For Immediate Release: Peekskill NY – Imagine parents being able to enjoy the same music that their children enjoy. Imagine soulful and current renditions of the ABC's, 1-2-3's, and learning how to be polite. Imagine a diverse and incredibly hip duo, teaching children through music on an animated train. Video game designer Greg Johnson imagined just that, and the result is Choo-Choo Soul!
"I had down time between game projects and was being driven crazy listening to bad children's music, and searching stores for something the family could all enjoy together, and thus was born the concept of Choo-Choo Soul," Johnson says.
He began by writing the song concepts, melodies and lyrics, then recruited collaborator Burke Treischmann and voice artist Genevieve Goings to translate the concepts into full and complete songs. The music is contagious and soulful, with a focus on trains and learning. After the completion of the project, Greg pitched the CD around to various outlets, including Disney.
Genevieve and Greg were flown to Los Angeles for what turned out to be an unprepared audition in front of a classroom of 4-5 year olds. The children loved Genevieve and the execs at Playhouse Disney decided to move ahead with filming 10 interstitials that now air on the Disney Channel daily, featuring Genevieve starring as the Train Conductor assisted by DC, her beatboxing, breakdancing engineer.
The live stage show brings the Disney Channel’s PARENTS CHOICE® award-winning Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve! television program to life. The Paramount Hudson Valley Theater will present two live performances of Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve! on Saturday, April 18th, 2015; first show at 11am and the second at 2 pm.

About the Performers:
Genevieve
Born to musician parents in the Bay Area, Genevieve Goings has been creating music since childhood. Touring with her neo-soul band, Legato, in 2004 the artist perfected her live stage performance. Her studio career began in hip-hop, writing and recording "hooks" for multiple local artists. This expanded into joining many hip-hop groups and free styling at many San Francisco venues. Her studio experience led her into voiceover work, and to date she can be found on multiple video games, children's toys, and websites. Since the success of "Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve!," she has moved to the Los Angeles area and released a solo album: "Diversity Personified," a title expressive of not only her diverse heritage, but her effortless knack for combining genres and styles.
DC
Constantine "DC" Abramson is a renaissance man of the entertainment world. Break dancing, beat boxing, acting, painting and working as one of the NBA's most recognizable mascots are only a few of his talents. DC and Genevieve toured together in the band Legato and developed a mutual appreciation for each other's talents. Genevieve introduced him to Greg and he was immediately hired on to add his beat boxing to the Choo Choo Soul project. At the time DC was also the mascot "Sourdough Sam" for the San Francisco 49ers. In addition to his role as the beat boxing, break dancing engineer on "Choo-Choo Soul with GENEVIEVE!," DC is currently working with the NBA'S Golden State Warriors as their team Mascot, "THUNDER".
