Introducing MacMomtreprenuer Gina Barrios and her business Salon 913. I had the chance to see Gina in action at the last Macaroni Kid Moms Night Out in November!
What was the moment in your life that inspired you to start your business?
I always dreamed of opening my own salon but finding out I was pregnant with my son Christian was the motivation I needed to make the
move. I wanted the freedom to make my own schedule which would allow me time to continue in the career that I love and also be home to raise my Son.
Is there a woman in business that inspires you?
Every Woman in business! Every woman that has taken the leap of faith, put in the long, hard hours and is living their dream, is my inspiration. Women that are Full-time owners, bosses, employees and mothers all in one. Women that run their businesses, run their homes and own their future.
Where do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years? The next ten years?
In the next year I would like to concentrate on advertising and continue to attract new clients. I want to create new and positive relationships and I want to be able to give my existing clients the best experience I can. In the next five years I would love to expand our studio. My partner
and I have worked together for over 12 years and going into business with her this past year have been amazing. Our dream is to
continue to be successful and to expand our salon and services! In the next 10 years... I want to be happy. I want to enjoy my husband, my children
and to get up every day doing what I Love. I am Blessed to be in a career that allows me to be creative, flexible with my Family life
and meet amazing people everyday. In the future if I could continue to have a thriving (and expanded) business and balance a successful family life it will be a perfect 10 year milestone!
What are the biggest issues with running this business?
Letting new clients know where we are and trying to find advertising options that truly work. Making everyone look their best is the easy
part. Letting them know where we are and the services we offer has been challenging.
