Event: WHUD Kids Fair

3/29 11-5 Purchase College

March 28, 2015

The 20th Annual WHUD Kids Fair will take place Sunday, March 29th from 11am – 5pm at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. With over 3,500 people expected to attend; this year is going to be EXTRA special! It will be extra special because they are celebrating their 20th year! Because of the milestone, WHUD has some considerable changes that they are looking forward to, and some long-lasting traditions that they are proud to hold on to for this landmark event.

For their 20th year 100.7 WHUD is updating their venue to the beautiful Performing Arts Center at SUNY Purchase! With vibrant red, blue, yellow and green walls, and a bright and fun confetti carpet, this space was meant for a Kid’s event. WHUD has taken over the building with access to the entire lower lobby, upper lobby, and main theatre to house the 70+ vendors, sponsors, and supporters of this heritage expo.

Bruce Feniger, WHUD’s General Manager explains “We were drawn to this space for many reasons: the building has charmingly beautiful aesthetics, a grandiose entranceway and potential outdoor patios. The Performing Arts Center is a regular stop on the Westchester Bee-Line bus route, allowing our listeners to be dropped off right at our front door and for our listeners who wish to drive there is ample free parking on site. But the reason we enjoyed the most was recognizing how very special it is to hold a children’s event in a place of education.”

The WHUD Kid’s Fair is proud to help raise funds for the 501c3 nonprofit organization, The HOPE for Youth Foundation. The WHUD Kids Fair’s contributions to the HOPE for Youth Foundation over the years has helped provide college scholarships to worthy students and provided funding to Children’s Charities in the Hudson Valley. A portion of the proceeds from the entire event will be going towards this organization, and Jim Witt, founder, will be on-site signing his long range weather calendars!

As for the fair itself, WHUD anticipates a lot of fun, entertaining, and educational exhibits all designed to keep the children and families fully engaged, and entertained!

“All of us at 100.7 WHUD are getting ready for and excited about the 20th Annual WHUD Kids Fair at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.” Said Steve Petrone, WHUD Program Director, “The new venue will allow us to bring Westchester and the Hudson Valley the best Kids Fair yet and raise funds for the HOPE for Youth Foundation.”

Admission for the WHUD Kids Fair is just $10 for adults and $5 for kids with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the HOPE for Youth Foundation and children’s charities in the Hudson Valley. Once inside all activities and demonstrations are free!

The 20th Annual WHUD Kids Fair is presented by the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and is supported by Westchester Subaru, Regeneron & Westchester Family Magazine.

Promotional support for the 20th Annual WHUD Kid’s Fair is provided by 100.7 WHUD, Westchester and the Hudson Valley’s Music and Information Station. 100.7 WHUD will be broadcasting live throughout the afternoon and will once again present their “Kid’s Radio Station.” Giving children the opportunity to record their own radio demos!
